Matcha has a natural, slightly bitter taste with a fine umami note. High-quality matcha like ours tastes smooth, creamy, and mildly sweet – especially when prepared with plant-based milk or as an iced matcha latte.
Yes, matcha is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Especially notable is the catechin EGCG, known for its cell-protective and metabolism-boosting effects.
Matcha contains caffeine but works differently from coffee. Thanks to its combination with L-theanine, caffeine is released more slowly – providing a long-lasting, focused energy boost without jitters.
One serving contains about 30–40 mg of caffeine. Two servings a day are well tolerated by most people. If you're sensitive to caffeine, start slowly and observe how your body reacts.
- Sift 2-3g (1-2 teaspoons) matcha powder into a bowl.
- Pour 30-40ml warm water (~70°C) in the bowl and whisk vigorously.
- Add milk of choice for a matcha latte and add ice cubes for iced matcha latte.
- Add sweeteners like agave syrup to taste.
- Enjoy!
*You can also simply pour matcha powder into a bottle with milk and shake.
