Our Organic Ceremonial Matcha Supreme is from a single estate organic JAS-certified farm in Kagoshima, Japan. Bursting with deliciousness, umami and high nutritional values, this top quality matcha is made exclusively from first flush harvests.

The tencha leaves used for our matcha are kept in the shade for approx three weeks while the plant grows to safeguard its quality. And trust us, you can taste it. Our Matcha Supreme is smooth, delicious, and truly uplifting. It is full-bodied with a rich flavor and floral aroma in a beautiful green shade; not the slightest traces of bitterness nor astringency.

Origin

Kirishima, Kagoshima, Japan

Kirishima sits at the foot of the Kirishima mountain range, an active volcanic area in southern Japan. As the name suggests (literally "misty island"), natural mists in this region filter sunlight and create gentle shading, slowing leaf growth and enhancing sweetness and amino acid content (L-theanine). With many passionate small family-run farms, the region is known for its premium green teas that have deep emerald green color, rich umami, and balanced sweetness.

How to prepare

Matcha Shot: Add 1 tsp (2-2.5g) of matcha powder into a bowl. Pour 30-40 ml of warm water at 70ºC (158°F). Whisk in fast zip-zag motion for around 30 seconds until frothy and clump-free.

Usucha: To drink it pure as usucha, add 30-40ml more water to the matcha shot. Enjoy hot or over ice.

Matcha Latte: Add 200-300ml of your favorite milk to the matcha shot. Enjoy hot or over ice.

How long will the matcha stay fresh?

For the best flavor and freshness, store opened matcha in an airtight container in the fridge or in a dark, cool place away from light and moisture. It will stay fresh for 4–6 weeks.

What's the best way to transfer matcha into a container without spilling?

Matcha is extremely fine, so static and air movement can send it flying. Transfer from bag to airtight container over a bowl, tray, or piece of parchment paper to catch any stray powder and sweep back into the container. Avoid squeezing or shaking the bag, which can puff fine matcha dust into the air.

1) Tap the refill bag lightly to settle the powder at the bottom of the refill bag.
2) Cut open the refill bag gently.
3) Place the opening of the refill bag inside the tin before you start pouring — this contains any dust cloud and keeps the powder from escaping into the air.
4) Gently tap the bag to empty it.
